Amazing how many broken boards you see on a day like this. Lots of closeouts and guys copping a spanking, but it seems boards are made with such thin glass that they're weak as fuck. Sure there's a trade off between performance and durability, but I'd prefer a stronger board than one that can't make it through the first decent swell.
Well what about the perfect 6 – 8 ft.glassy rollers at Maroochydore in September 1996, which happened for most of that month, every arvo' ? Or the perfect 8 – 9 ft. peelers off the Alex. Bluff in June 2000, which had (yes, I counted) around 6 or 8 HUNDRED surfers out there in groups of 10, 20, 30 and 40 for the 2 weeks I stayed at Alex. – and COULDN'T go out because of surfer numbers? HOW FRICKIN' ANNOYING!!!!!!! AAARRRGGHH!!!!!!
