I started surfing in the era of Shaun Thomson and Rabbit Bartholomew, and if you dropped in on someone back then you got your ass kicked unless you did it by accident and you said you were sorry. Geeks today have such a sense of entitlement, and they don't care who they hurt or what happens to the wave of the guy who actually caught it first. You can't punch somebody nowadays. You'll go to jail if you put your hands on someone.
I think she was nice, she gently guided him back over the wave. They were playing with each other. Little kid was being cocky challenging her, but he was being playful too. If she let him bully her playing it would teach him to be a dick.

Personally I give a pass to groms because I know they're excited and they're just learning, but when you're old enough to know better than to drop-in is what gets me fired up.
Regarding this particular situation, in a year this kid will be surfing better than her and he'll spend the rest of his life being 10X's the surfer she will ever be.
