Honestly, there's like 9 guys there capable of the take-off surrounded by 91 other blokes wasting their time paddling against the sweep.

not only hustlin for a wave, after a long paddle, if your luckiest to get a wave, im betting its alot tufr to read than it looks..takeoff barrel, cut up section &/or speed up to get a deeper, thicker, probably shallower and if your lucky enuf to make it, personally, that long paddle back makes much, much shorter&better to hustle harder for the next wave.

I counted over 100 people in the line up over the length of 100meters no exaggeration, sat for 4 hours drinking beer from the surf club balcony on these two days. The next day was even close double that. Seen so many people drop in on someone’s barrel, don’t know how they don’t have more accidents.. was brutal lol
