In this video I surf pumping 6 foot Torquay waves at Bells Beach- long straight walls perfect for full rail carving, no air reverses or tailslides out here.

When Bells is good you can ride a board with a longer rail to allow you to go faster and do bigger, faster full rail turns. Many people ride too small surfboards at bells and they have to nurse their turns, or the cant make the sections, or they get stuck on flat sections. A longer rail line helps you fly across the wave and maintain speed.

The best pro surfers at Bells Beach have used full rail surfing to win here – Mick fanning, Joel Parkinson, Kelly Slater, Stephanie Gilmour, John John Florence.

The board I’m riding is a Channel Islands Surfboards 6’8 MSG.
I’m 6’2 tall and 90kgs (190lbs).

Board dimensions 6.8 x 19.5 x 2.58
