Was there in the water a few days after this session when it was 13/15 feet. These waves are ridiculous. Thick barrels, shallow breaks and heavy currents, mad respect for surfing them at 20/30 feet. Gives me deja vu anxiety seeing the pov of paddling over the sets

i have to ask, is this just a team of people funding all this themselves? is this an event? where does the money come in? do people pay to watch? is all the money from this one single youtube video? i have so many questions about this and how it all works. how do you even get involved? is it something that happens totally by chance and you have no control over it? how do I become "surfer rescue jetski guy"? do i have to go to school for it? who pays me? where does the money that the company that pays me with come from? what goods or services are being sold to facilitate the existence of, for lack of better wording, all this right here?
