With the ever growing popularity of surfing, this will only get worse as time goes on. I go to less popular spots (and lower quality waves) just to avoid this kind of stuff. Spots around here that over the past 40 years or so, have never had more than 10-15 peeps out at once, carry 60-70 now during a mediocre swell.
Makes it kind of not fun, so I can sacrifice some wave quality for some solitude in the surf.
Try that in Hawaii, you end with a broken board and a broken jaw….😂😢😮😂
Nevertheless people on social media be like: No one owns the ocean! I can surf anywhere and take whatever wave!
