I posted on the surfing subreddit that I was going on this trip to see if anyone wanted to meet up for a surf session. My new friend Max (@plainmax) reached out to me and we went surfing on the coast of Oregon and he showed me around. I continued north into Washington where I found the best waves of this trip so far. Unfortunately I’m just a cotton headed ninny muggins who lost another go-pro. At least I was able to get some of the footage. After learning that the money for parking goes to the Quileute Reservation I of course was happy to oay.

By all means go back to California! The waves up here suck, it doesn’t stop raining, $5 is cheap for parking, and there is literally trash everywhere including in the ocean. California is a dream compared so definitely go back there. Please.

This was a really cool video man! I’m planning on moving to Seattle next year from California and I’ve been trying to figure out if surfing is doable there. A lot of skateparks which is rad but surfing everyday I feel like I’d miss it quite a bit. This video gives me hope!

QUILEUTE reservation is OK to surf but DO NOT GO to QUINAULT… they will beat you up, slash your tires or shoot you if you go onto the beach without permission. It's posted everywhere not to trespass. Warning for the wise..

How do you get your wetsuit ready for the next day after surfing the day before when truck camping?? I surf in washington and have just started truck camping, tryin to figure out how to do this so i can surf more than just one day when out camping haha!
the best waves were the ones you saw as you paddled out… I have been in that situation before — at least you had some room to yourself out there — lots of surf trips don't work out, but you had some good conditions that day

After learning that the $5 was for the Quileute Reservation I was happy to pay. I also paid for a camp spot later on, what a beautiful place!
You can park for free at the north end of first beach. Remember it's a reservation and the Quileute have been gracious enough to welcome surfers for a long time, so it's a small price to pay for the privilege of enjoying their beach. Looks like you scored!
