Thanks for tuning into another one guys! Super happy to get some surf with the fam and friends, always grateful to do things i love with the people i love. If you’re new to the channel welcome! Grab a subscribe! I’m trying to grow this channel to 1000 subscribers before June! If you liked what you saw smash that like button. It helps me grow (more than you know) as a channel here on youtube. That goes without saying please comment any feedback or suggestions for videos in the future involving boards, rods, and cameras.
Filmed 3/20-3/21. Small run of E/SE groundswell measuring 4-5′ wave-height @ 8 second intervals. A light offshore wind, an incoming tide, combined with this swell made for some fun walls last week averaging around chest to overhead sets.
The camera is a Panasonic Mirrorless GH5 running a Lumix (14-140mm) and a Lumix Vlog lens 7-14mm. Both performed outstanding on this first shoot. The entire body of this Camera is also weather sealed which for my channel will be Perfecto. Very happy with the interface and menus and really looking forward to putting out some top their videos in the near future. And per usual I use my normal Gopro hero 4 and 5 black editions.
The Board I ride is a 5’4″ custom Epoxy Longtoe Mini-simmons with a quad fin setup. FCS finboxes running FCS’ Split keels (so much love for those fins) They could also cut the skin off your teeth they’re so sharp.
Stay tuned. With spring and summer around the corner I always get stoked to put the wetsuits away and enjoy some warm water. Waiting for the right swell to head north to OBX or south to FL to catch some surf and get away for a few days. I’m toying with some ideas of surfing container ship wakes at the Charleston Jetty, just sayin.

What time of year was this?
what a joke! If you think you can leisurely drive down to surf at Folly Beach you're wrong. Prepare to wait in traffic any and everywhere you go here. This place has been inundated with loud, rude and disgusting people. I am a generational Charlestonian. Family dates back to the 1720s straight from Ulster. Charleston is quite plainly Paradise lost. For all you newcomers I give this greeting; Stay your goddman a** in Ohio
🙂
i dig that board…
Another great video, Son. You are so talented and cool .🏄🤟💙
Super sick video. Moving to Charleston in April 2023 and coming from my native San Diego CA. Super stoked on the surf!
Yesir let’s get that wave
I am at a. Beach house out there right now
Moving to Hilton head and trying to see if the waves are even big enough to get into surfing there and learn
heck yeah…I feel the stokeness…tiny for CA but surfable…having fun…
I was encouraged to see some long boarding. Would you say longboarders have a lot of options?
What number street is this
Just moved to Charleston about 2 months ago from Palm Beach, FL. Been to IOP a few times but haven’t witnessed anything but flatwater, this videos giving me motivation to check out Folly this weekend
I'm down in Beaufort and love to fish. This video makes me want to learn how to surf
Looking forward to move to SC, will continue watching your videos, thanks
I went surfing there yesterday great waves
During a typical month, how many surf days would you guess there are? I'm up in Rhode Island where we probably get only 6-8 a month. Definitely looking into moving to SC in the next couple years, ad the swells at the beach are important to me for sure.
Sick dude, question do you ever worry about sharks and have you ever seen a shark while surfing folly beach, I’m going surfing there and just wanna know if I should be worried
how consistent is it for yall? many times I check the folly cam and it looks comparable to here. stranger still is sometimes it looks pretty good, but there is no one out, at least no one in view of the cam… other times it looks like c-rap and lots of people out. maybe some surf zones or something sometimes? worst of all, is when it looks real good on the cam, but its no good here ha ha.
folly is my home
Just surfed here today good shit
Nice! I feel the same tension here in NC. (southern banks) I'm thankful for fishing for those times with no swell! Great video and channel bro. Keep it up!
Dumping beach breaks is probably the best thing ever
Sick little spot!! Where does swells in S. Carolina generate from? Is it from the giant north/south Atlantic storms near the jet streams pushing them in like we get them here in Hawai'i? Or is it closer range situations like tradewind swells, tropical storms and hurricanes?
How's folly beach?
I was born and raised there. I usually go to the Isle of Palms or park at the Battery! I miss home. I'm living in Asheville, NC now.
Would absolutely love to visit SC, sending love from the UK x x x
Cool video. If you could let me know, Is your board shape odd or maybe functional in a new way?
Great video! Thanks for the info. Born and raised in SC and grew up surfing the grand strand. Now living in South Florida. Gotta get back up that way and surf the legendary Washout. I always heard stories as a kid!
I’m from Massachusetts and I go to Narragansett Beach in RI for surf kayaking and boogie boarding. This looks a little rough here. Our waves are smooth and they rise but they don’t crash. This might be a little too much for me unless there is a calmer day.
I am at the washout and got here today surf 🏄🏻
Can you do body surfing here or just surfing ?
Moving to Charleston in two weeks. Thanks for the video!
