that goya looks pretty good. biggest window i ever saw on a wave sail🌴🌴
Great video. Very honest. Goya skinny booms are great. And you can’t stop here, now you need the new quatro pyramid. Bring one from Maui. By the way my local dealer is also goya distributer.
So cool 🙂 I was listening to the podcast and I was wondering, will you be taking new equipment to Hawaii or will you be renting there?
At 36 mins exactly I'm curious to know how you do that funny tack. From the POV I can't quite figure it out. What's it called? Great vid as ever!
It's always good to hit the re-fresh button once in a while, and I would make the same change to Goya if I were you. Just make a note that it's 'BAAnzai' (A in apple not as in the French 'bon'.) I assume they're named after the 'Pipeline' wave in Hawaii.
hi thanks for great videos.
had been. good and interesting with video about what you use for drones.
Great video. The Goya booms are excellent, fyi.
Nice, will be easy to spot you on the water now!!
Nothing quite like a session on a new sail……The window is awesome, made for wave sailing!! Nice video, I always enjoy your POV's….
Nice photo of St Ives! My home town.
I would stick with Ezzy
I use Ezzy masts in my new Banzai pro max sails. I’m 92kg and feel they suit me better as they are not as soft as the Goya masts. If you still have your ezzy masts give them a try?
Cool video, congrats! I'm still using my 2005 5.2m Ezzy wave, not many brands can claim such longevity I guess. I have a mixed quiver from various brands and Ezzy isn't my favourite to sail in terms of feel, but I certainly can't complain about how long it lasted inder the brutal Greek sun!
I switched to Goya 10 years ago after many years with almost all the big brands. I will probably never switch again 🩵greets from northern Germany
Was Severne a consideration Paul?
I did this change 10+ years ago with a 6.2 eclipse and regretted it instantly. Even more when I had to thread the sail into the tiny bag in the wind after a long session. For someone who doesn’t want to spend $1000 every year on a sail, Ezzy is so much stronger than goya. It’s amazing how they achieve that with the same weight.
Thanks for the review. It’s good to see how the two brands improved over the years and how they compare . I might try the next time I’m renting but I know what I’m buying. Enjoy the sails. Cheers
Enjoy the sails Paul! Felt the same after changing over from NP to Severne couple of years ago after 20+ years
Nice to see you, Paul.
Always a pleasure.🎉
Which is that car what you driving for this trip. A Toyota…?
Can you tell us perhaps….please😉🤙
Have you seen that 'What sail brand are you' video someone* did a while ago, chortle snort snort😂
Note: battens have a little 'bend preference' due to being rolled the same way. Glad you enjoy the change, enjoy the views through the window! I think you just get used to sails, however, you do fee the difference between brands with shorter mast lengths and taller designs.
This was an advertisement for Ezzy sails. Top build quality, big sturdy sail bag, I‘m sold. Oh there was Goya too, nice colors 😂
Paul, thanks for the video… I felt like I was wearing the Goyas for the first time. Enjoy them!!
I am really happy for you mate!
Goya is one of my favorite brands.
Ezzy masts might be bomb proof, except for Gnaraloo bombs – that was a rough 😂
Great stuff Paul. I have Goya boards and find them top quality so I imagine the sails are too. If I ever move from Severne sails, it'll probably only be to Goya. Also like the classy way you left Ezzy. You made it clear you love those sails and didn't leave for any other reason than the opportunity you were given. Congrats – hope you love them 🤙🏻
You will miss the Quality of ezzy.
…must be such a relieve, sailing a Goya sail after so many years of Ezz.
I heard Francisco years ago explaining a reason for their sails/bags being thinner is that it opened to the opportunity to pack 2 of them in a box from the factory versus just one in the past. It cut their shipping cost quite a bit. It might have been the 3 battens and not the 4 battens but found that detail from Francisco quite interesting. You’ll enjoy your Goya sails. I used many brands and this is always one I love above the others. Have fun Paul!
Congrats, very nice sails. The power and control clew options actually make a big difference in this Banzai. The control option definitely adds to the upper windrange.
