Brazilian surfer Rodrigo Koxa now holds the Guinness World Record for the largest wave ever ridden.
The judges of the World Surf League (WSL) Big Wave Awards considered it to be a 80-foot wave (24.38 meters).
Koxa surfed this mammoth wave on November 8, 2017, at Praia do Norte, the infamous big wave surf break located in Nazaré, Portugal.
The 38-year-old athlete beat Garrett McNamara’s 2011 world record by two feet.

Hats off!
Really?? Thought Grant McNamara held the record?
The Seagull is checking out what all the fuss is out.
Did he live?
Don´t worry people
they used stunt people in this scene
Anyone watching this because of hurricane Florence??
Nope.
That was so huge!
The bird sort of stole the show. Crazy ride Koxa!
Much better footage this time around than for Garrett McNamara's record, which unfortunately was apparently recorded with a recently harvested potato.
Pure insanity.
