I think surf contests in Nazaré should be judged thumbs up or thumbs down, gladiatorial style. I don't know which would be more difficult, fighting to the death, facing the lions, or surfing a Nazaré wave?

Those waves have always been there. Right off the coast of western Europe, and yet nobody had ever heard of them. No one ever spoke of them. Not even the Portuguese.

My deep respect to those that insanely risk their lives here in Nazaré, but much deeper respect goes to the fisherman of this town, that thru the years, every day, risked their lives or died conquering the sea just to put food on everybody's tables! 🙏❤️🇵🇹
I rode a 100" wave once. It is kinda the same thing only different.
I feel like there should be some horses 🐎 in the swell of the waves, like the guinness advert! Brave people who attempt this!x

What's hilarious is that Hawaiians would say "that's only a 50 foot wave". The face is 100 feet, so it is a 100 foot wave. They aren't surfing the back side of the wave.
I don't understand how they can physically surf those waves with the weight of their massive balls slowing them down.
I just wanna know how they filmed this. Is the cameraman a pro surfer too?

I am not going to lie, i am surprised that those surf boards where able to carry them human balls of Tungsten.
