Shane Dorian takes us through his winning wave in the Billabong Ride of the Year category of the 2015 WSL Big Wave Awards. Dorian rode the wave at Puerto Escondido, Mexico on July 5, 2014. Puerto Escondido is one of many seaside towns in Mexico alone which begin with Puerto, which is not pronounced pwairtoe. I wonder if he even knows that Puerto Escondido means hidden port (harbour) or that it's in the Mexican state of Oaxaca or how Oaxaca is pronounced or that its capital is also called Oaxaca or even that Mexico, like the US, is divided into states.
