I wish for a better shot of nazare. The cliff view gives a false perspective of wave height. I don’t wanna take anything away from these guys but aside from the choppy faces, there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of technique required to ride this takeoff and go for the shoulder wave compared to breaks like shipstern or the right or chowpoo. Big ups to them from my armchair nonetheless

Sempre fui ao mar desde pequeno. Cabo do mundo,Leça,Matosinhos,homem do Leme,na Foz, lavadores,salgueiros,francelos, mar e sol, aguda, quiaios , Figueira da Foz . Eram dois meses de mar sol e areia. Mas na Praia da Figueira em frente ao relógio numa tarde com um amigo enfrentamos ondas a sério e mergulhamos com convicção e coragem. Era setembro,marés grandes. As ondas pegavam em nós como se fossemos um brinquedo para o mar. Mas o segredo era deixar me levar pela força da onda sem resistência a ela é aceita-la com o que ela fazia de nós. Era areia na boca nas orelhas nos olhos e lá íamos novamente mergulhar noutra onda a seguir depois de uma paragem para respirar fundo. Esse é o segredo de estar no mar,como fazem estes campeões de surf de ondas gigantes. É entregar-se ao mar totalmente. Estar com ele. Amar o mar. Graças a Deus conheço as mil e uma praias de toda a costa oeste, alentejo e a costa Sul do paraíso algarvio. Viva o Mar.
