Surf Spy Balloon lol

Sick looks like high tide Burleigh,,,,,,, low tide would of been hollow as at the cove. I remember surfing Burleigh after it had been quiet for a while in 89 when I was 16 and it come to life for two days. I never forget riding my Aunties chicky bike with my Dalby Fluoro 80’s design board under my arm around the mountain at Tallebudgera from Palmy and was greeted with those solid 6-8 foot classic glassy Gold Coast lime green walls and big green rooms roaring and screeming down the point from the cove,,,, fark’ man that was the shit you dreamed of way back then as a maturing grommy! Surfed there all day I reckon I spent eight hours in the water, saw so many crew get bullshit shacked off their heads and made a few pissas myself. Met the legendary Munga Barry out there, we chatted a heap and we all watched him rip Burleigh to shreds,,,, he even hooted me onto a boomer as he was paddling back out.
I took a massive late vertical drop, bottom turned and pulled into the biggest farkin’ pit of my 16 year life at the time right in front of Munga and then got smashed into oblivion a few seconds later thinking I was going to make it out of this monster bowl yeeeeew…
When I surfaced with nearly half of Burleighs sand wedged into every part of my body and my head came up for air there was Munga still hooting at me from out the back and laughing his farkin’ head off lol, what a legend he was and so humble about it,,,,
You never forget that type of good rare soulful shit,,,,,,,,,,,
