First surfed it in '77, crowded out with about max 30 guys on a head high tail of a cyclone swell. Most were locals, but no where near the backpacker Scandinavian style crowds of today. Totally agree with the sentiments of @svensshed1564
This is the reason as a lifelong surfer I took up foiling, I would be 50m away from the farthest person out and still be catching waves and having a fat ole time
No, just no. That's too many people in the lineup for me.
One thing for sure, the crowds aren't going away. The problem is that they're not getting out of the way either.
